昨夜はテキサス州にあるcommunity collegeで14人が刺され（stab）、二人が重傷(clitical condition)とのこと。昨年coonecticut 州の小学校で子供を含む26人（内6人大人）が銃で撃たれ死亡した。Dressed in black fatigues and a military vest, a heavily armed man walked into a Connecticut elementary school Friday and opened fire, shattering the quiet of this southern New England town and leaving the nation reeling at the number of young lives lost.このことで銃の規制オバマ大統領が盛んに言っているが議会で承認されるかどうか不透明だ。NRAの力も強く、それより国民が銃による自己防衛の意識が建国以来強いこともある。(ニューイングランドの南部を震撼させ、アメリカをうろたえさせた事件だった）reel at.　reel fromを憶えよう。

近頃は毎日N.Koreaのニュースが報道されるようになりました。現在はMexican Standoff （膠着状態）です。どうしてそう言う意味か調べてください。それよりアメリカは北朝鮮の子供じみた若い好戦的な指導者をあまり刺激しないような方向へshiftしたようです。つまり米軍の動きを報道しないということです。B-52やF-22を投入する事を発表するとますます彼はエスカレートするからです。でも準備は万全と軍関係者は議会で述べています。

１：very が形容詞、副詞を修飾するのに対し、muchは動詞を修飾する

２：　ただし叙述用法のafraid, alike はmuchが修飾

 She is much afraid of hairy caterpillars.

     These two look much alike.

３：　また副詞の　tooもmuchが修飾

 You are much too young.

４：　句を修飾するのはmuch

     Much to my joy, he helped me with my work

     These articles are much in demand

     They are much of an age. 彼らはほぼ同年齢だ　much=nearly 副 大体
